Help & FAQ
Quick answers to the most common questions operators run into during a live service.
Offline & privacy
- Works fully offline. Core transcription and verse detection run on your computer — no internet connection required for a normal service.
- Your audio stays local when using the on-device Paraclette Local AI engine. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Cloud transcription is opt-in and only used on paid tiers when you’re online; if it’s unavailable, Paraclette falls back to local processing automatically.
- Your sessions are yours. Transcripts, notes, and archives are stored on your own machine.
Troubleshooting
Transcription isn’t picking up any words
Check Settings → Audio and confirm the correct microphone is selected — watch the live level meter while someone speaks. If the meter doesn’t move, the wrong input is selected or the mic isn’t reaching your computer. Also make sure transcription is actually running (the REC dot is red; press Space to start).
The wrong verse keeps appearing
Check the confidence colour. Amber and red detections are guesses — always glance at the Preview before sending them live. For tricky paraphrases, the higher tiers’ Context Memory improves accuracy by following the sermon’s topic.
Nothing shows on my second screen
Open the Broadcast Window from the broadcast / cast control and drag it onto your second monitor, then make it full-screen. If you use ProPresenter / vMix / OBS, use NDI output instead and add Paraclette as an NDI source in that software.
My phone can’t open the Web Remote
Make sure the phone is on the same Wi-Fi as the computer. If it still won’t load, turn off “Use Secure Connections” / HTTPS-Only in the phone browser’s advanced settings and re-scan the QR code — the LAN remote uses plain http://.
The cloud engine stopped mid-service
That’s handled automatically — Paraclette falls back to the on-device engine and keeps transcribing. The network-status pill will show Local with a pulsing indicator so you know the fallback happened. No action needed.
I hit my weekly transcription limit
The free Plant tier includes 90 minutes of transcription per week. Upgrade to any paid tier for unlimited transcription. Your usage and limit are shown under Settings → Usage.
My license expired — is the app locked?
No. Paraclette never locks you out mid-service. If a license expires or can’t be verified, it simply reverts to the free Plant tier so your service continues uninterrupted. Re-activate a valid key to restore your full features.
